A stage for Ambition
and Leadership
The Young Captain Award highlights leaders who will soon be the face of entrepreneurship in the Netherlands. Leaders who distinguish themselves through daring, decisiveness, and originality, who think internationally, and who view leadership as a social, personal, and economic responsibility.

For over 20 years, the Award has offered them a platform and made a substantial contribution to the development of their ambition and leadership talent. The jury interviews challenge candidates to seek out their intrinsic motivations, push their boundaries, and critically examine their leadership style.

Winning the Award is just the Beginning

A Year full of Impact, Visibility, and Top-Level Leadership lies ahead

The new Young Captain enters a meaningful year, full of opportunities for leadership, growth, and visibility within leading networks.
Our academic partner Nyenrode Business University invites the Young Captain to participate in the New Board Program, and our communication partner Wepublic offers in-depth media training in issue management.
In addition, the Young Captain acts as a guest speaker — including at the annual KPMG conference at Oud Poelgeest — and serves on the jury for the next Award edition.
The Young Captain is actively introduced at networking events with leading business figures and connected with the initiative's partners.
Together with the two other finalists, the Young Captain joins the Young Captain alumni network. Throughout the year, we coordinate additional opportunities for further personal development and broadening of horizons in close consultation.
Throughout the year, we jointly explore which additional opportunities contribute to further personal development and broadening.
